On the 28th of November, we were pleased to welcome to our office curious students during our Open Doors.

We connected with students from Foreign Languages, who were eager to learn more about the translation industry and our job opportunities.

Our product trainer, Daniela together with Justin, our Operation Director, talked about the language industry in the 21st century. Some highlights that were presented:

  • The translation industry is growing every year with 7.7% and there is an immense potential for all related businesses.

  • You won’t stay competitive on the market if you don’t embrace innovation in your internal processes. Jira, Machine translations, Slack, Proz are one of the many tools that help the businesses get organized and be more efficient.

  • The most common roles in this area are Translator, Reviewer and Interpreter. Besides knowing a foreign language, you need to have additional skills to succeed like expertise, the necessary qualification, good time management, strong business knowledge, able to use the technology and be part of professional associations.

  • You can still build a career in the localisation industry, without having the need to translate. The diversity of roles is immense, starting from Project Managers, DTP Experts, Client Managers, Recruiters and finishing with Software Engineers and Solutions Architects.

Our People&Culture Development ladies made sure to share insights from our inside life, like traditions, events, internal practices, so the participants get a good sense of our culture.

We believe the event brought more clarity for those who are interested in building a career in the localization industry and also helped Travod to connect with the young generation.
