Run for Children Marathon

Every child deserves a loving family.

With this thought, Travod team joined the CCF/HHC #runforchildrenteam at Chisinau International Marathon this fall. Along with other 155 enthusiasts from local and international organizations, we opted purposely to run for children from orphanages, so they can have a chance for a happier childhood home, with their parents.

Hundreds of children continue to suffer in cold institutions, known as orphanages. There the baby's voice remains an unanswered cry. This is where the attachment, the affection, the essential elements that make us human are missing. Orphanages affect CHILDREN and painfully erode the social capital of our Moldova.

25 travodians woke up in the early Sunday morning and joined the movement. For some, it was their 1st marathon, for others the 3rd of 7th, in the end, all of them hit great milestones of courage, curiosity, determination and love for others. They received their medals and made history for all of us: the whole #runforchildrenteam fundraised 131 430 lei, for which we are very thankful.

Sometimes big distances and higher purposes are not even about the right training, but more about a strong mind, the right purpose that you Can More, for you and for the others. We ran every cm of the 21km for children, their warm homes and their happy families, here, in Moldova. We are home to build at least 300 meaningful jobs in the next 5 years and we need the healthiest and happiest children to grow in their families and be our successful employees of tomorrow
